Abstract

The ambidextrous leadership theory proposes that the alternation between the opening and closing behaviour of leaders has a positive impact on the behaviour of exploration and exploitation of the leaders. That is, the innovative performance of the leaders is higher when there is a greater alternation between the behaviour of exploration and exploitation by the leaders. The objective of this work is to understand how the ambidextrous leadership has been defined in the literature and what the evolution and the findings that confirm its relationship with the innovation.
