Abstract

This research links knowledge of Design Thinking, Exhibition Design and Information Design to identify issues and suggest visual communication solutions in one of the microcosms of the Historic Museum of Londrina, the permanent exhibition “Casa Central de David Dequêch”. The production of this study has as main goal to increase the educational potential of this microcosm, exploring and discovering more efficient ways of visual communication that can be used on this location so that they will be applied and tested in the future with the goal to amplify its utility in other spaces of the museum. This research was conducted utilizing the inductive approach of a qualitative and exploratory nature. The outlining of the study will be done through action-research and participatory research, utilizing as strategy the execution of interviews and in site visits to observe the location. The contribution to the relocations and update of the exhibition will bring benefits to the institution, because it will make it more attractive and with a bigger educational potential to its visitants

Author Biographies

Ana Paula Perfetto-Demarchi, Universidade Estadual de Londrina

Associate Professor at the Department of Design at the State University of Londrina, she participates in the strictu sensu Information Sciences program. She has a Ph.D. in Engineering and Knowledge Management at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and a Post-Doc in Knowledge Management at the Polytechnic University of Valencia-Spain. She is currently the director of LabConde – Laboratory on Strategic Knowledge and Design Department connections, is editor in chief of the design magazine of the Department of Design of the State University of Londrina, and is part of rDis®, Red International de Investigación en Diseño Sistémico based in Valencia in Spain.
