Abstract

Google Scholar as a knowledge media is a gateway for scientific researchers of different levels who have an initial perspective on what has been published on a given topic. This article presents the different terminologies related to people with disabilities over time and uses them as search expressions in Google Scholar. The search objective is to identify the number of results from each of the expressions. Using search operators and exclusion filters, the quantities of documents referring to each term were collected. After the research execution, it was found, in a broad way, that the term 'people with disabilities’ has been widely used by the Brazilian scientific community in the vast majority of scientific publications titles, from January 2010 to July 2021. Regarding the use of the search engine, it is understood that the media has limitations regarding the precision of the results for exhaustive bibliographic research.
