Abstract

The concept of Learning Commons has been under discussion for the last thirty
years and in the academic environment this topic is in increasing discus sion and redefinitions,
thus the objective of this article is to accomplish an integrative review on "learning
commons". With the beginning of a structured selection process and the systematic analysis of
ten articles, related to the topic in question and from the researcher's point of view, the results
point to a direction of studies towards topics such as physical environment, virtual
environment and pedagogical intention, issues related to the implementation of a learning
commons. This verification gives voice to the need for more studies directed to the aspects of
implementation, practices and learning results, as strategies for models of a common learning
environment.
