OVERVIEW OF THE TERM DIGITAL EDUCATION:

A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS (2019-2022) IN THE SCENARIO OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Abstract

The use of the term digital education is increasingly recurrent in various researches in the educational context. However, the lack of clarity regarding its concept is still a challenge. Based on this gap, this research aims to verify how the term digital education is being used in national and international literature. For this, a bibliometric analysis will be carried out in the Scopus and Web of Science databases (2019-2022). As a result, in addition to some indicators, the analysis of the 20 most cited articles in each base, it was identified that the main approaches are similar to: digitalization of education; use of digital technologies as a medium; teaching-learning processes emerging from the pandemic period; and teaching methods. As main contributions, important features stand out that should be considered together with the term “digital education”.
