Abstract

Projects for people with disabilities involve the complexity of knowledge and tasks, requiring the establishment and understanding of knowledge exchange in a way that promotes dialogue. The objective of this paper was to understand how social inclusion occurs in voluntary organizations for people with disabilities through knowledge sharing. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focus groups at Surf Sem Fronteiras Association (ASSF), a voluntary organization for people with disabilities that aims to promote social inclusion through surfing practice. The sharing of tacit knowledge from lived experiences, stories, and shared feelings breaks down prejudices and attitudinal barriers, leading to a change in perceptions. Through knowledge sharing it is possible to demonstrate the importance of inclusion and accessibility and facilitate the experience and coexistence of people.
