Abstract

The objective of this work was to synthesize the knowledge about the applications of transmedia storytelling and the consequences of its use for learning in higher education. For this purpose, an integrative literature review was carried out in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The main results showed initiatives in which students act as creators of a transmedia narrative, as well as initiatives with transmedia narratives previously created by third parties. The review demonstrated that the use  of transmedia storytelling covers several areas of application in higher education and is shown to increase student engagement and motivation, promoting improvements in teaching and learning processes, favoring group learning.
