Abstract

This study explores the critical factors for the success of collaborative research networks in higher education, focusing on their formation, development, and operation. An integrative literature review was conducted using ERIC, Web of Science (WOS), and Scopus databases. The findings reveal that structural, functional, and evaluative factors significantly impact network effectiveness, with the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) playing a crucial role in facilitating collaboration among geographically dispersed teams. The study underscores the importance of public policies that support collaborative networks, highlighting the need for integration, diversity, funding, and knowledge sharing to enhance scientific collaboration in higher
education.
