Abstract

This case study investigates Knowledge Management (KM) practices in Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), specifically within the Regional Development Councils of Florianópolis. The study identifies knowledge as an essential strategic resource and contextualizes the importance of KM practices for the success and social impact of NGOs. The adopted methodology follows a rigorous structure that includes the qualification of the case study, definition of analysis units, evidence gathering, and data interpretation. Using Nonaka and Takeuchi's SECI Model, the study analyzes how these organizations practice KM, identifying them as knowledge-intensive organizations. The formalization of these practices can significantly increase the social impact and innovation capacity of NGOs, reinforcing knowledge as a fundamental strategic resource.
