Abstract

In this work, we verified how the Information Technology (IT) sector of a campus of a federal teaching institution deals with the topic of Knowledge Management (GC) in its processes. In order to identify the current situation of the implementation of KM practices in the IT sector in a federal teaching institution, a qualitative exploratory study was carried out that used the case study as a strategy. The results show that despite the IT sector's efforts to record industry knowledge, tacit knowledge still prevails, and more work is needed to internalize knowledge, such as well-structured and disseminated manuals to impart simple and fast solutions to a variety of problems of all sectors. It is verified that the analysis in only one sector of the educational institution is a limiting factor for the analysis of Knowledge Management. It is a suggestion of future studies, to expand the study to the other sectors or to the IT sector of all the campus of the educational institution that will concretize or rectify the results obtained in this research.
