Abstract

This study aims to identify the perception of professionals performing administrative activities in a large community university, located in the southern region of Brazil, about the adoption of creativity in the functions they carry out, as well as on factors that can stimulate creativity in the organizational environment. A descriptive and exploratory case study was carried out with the qualitative approach. Data were collected through open and semi-structured interviews with six employees from different hierarchical levels, from sectors involved in administrative activities. The analysis of the data showed that the creative performance of the individual is not restricted to artistic activities, but emerges from the personal characteristics of the subjects, their experiences, their culture and their capacity to manipulate available resources to perform a specific action in the specific context.
