Abstract

This article aimed to understand the level of empowerment of women who act as researchers. The methodological procedures adopted were: descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted with a group of women researchers who work in the Serra Catarinense, through interviews with a semi-structured script, contemplating the dimensions of individual, relational and collective empowerment. The results highlight the individual and collective dimension, since the interviewees reported as their main objectives: (1) Be recognized for the work it performs and by the researches it produces, (2) Contribute and modify the society through its researches; (3) Achieving new levels in the career; (4) Have quality of life and provide this to family members; (5) Conquer the pinnacle of a career; (6) Feeling professionally performed (7) having autonomy and empowerment.
