Abstract

Fake news detection is a growing challenge in the digital age, requiring innovative approaches to mitigate the spread of misinformation. This paper presents the development of the FND-Ontology, an external ontology for identifying fake news. The research was conducted using Design Science Research (DSR) as a research method and an integrative literature review in SciElo, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, and Scopus databases for theoretical foundation. As part of the study, 13 relevant publications were selected, which served as the basis for constructing the proposed objects. The main result of this work is the FND-Ontology, which formally structures concepts, relationships, and attributes essential for detecting fake news, contributing to the advancement of information verification techniques, and offering a solid basis for future research and applications in combating misinformation.
