Innovation ecosystems require collaborative approaches for the creation, sharing, and application of knowledge among diverse actors (university, industry, government, and society). Although the literature on the topic has advanced, empirical analyses remain limited regarding which knowledge management (KM) strategies can be implemented to strengthen such ecosystems. The purpose is to analyze how KM strategies are implemented by an innovation hub. This article presents a qualitative case study focused on the implementation of KM strategies within an innovation hub in Brazil: The Center for Scientific and Technological Development Support - IDEIA, affiliated with the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Data collection and analysis illustrate how KM strategies can be applied in the context of university-based innovation ecosystems. The results indicate three strategic pillars are highlighted: (1) open innovation through collaborative access to technical and technological knowledge; (2) use of shared infrastructure as a mechanism to enhance organizational capabilities and competencies; and (3) orchestration of dispersed knowledge, connecting internal and external university stakeholders to address real-world challenges through academic and technical expertise. This study offers empirical evidence of how a university-based hub can serve as a catalyst for knowledge management by implementing collaborative strategies that engage Quadruple Helix actors. In addition to its theoretical contributions, the paper provides practical insights for R&D center managers, university administrators, and policymakers in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
