SHAPING SMART CAMPUS FRAMEWORK: DOMAINS, INDICATORS, AND AI-DRIVEN PUBLIC INNOVATION
Keywords:

he digital transformation of cities and the rise of emerging technologies have demanded adaptations in university environments. The concept of smart campuses emerges as a promising response, integrating digital infrastructure, real-time data, and intelligent systems to enhance institutional performance and stakeholder experience. In this context, artificial intelligence (AI) appears as a key enabler that improves resource allocation, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making. Despite growing academic interest, there is still no consensus on the conceptual domains and indicators that define a smart campus. This study aims to fill this gap by proposing a conceptual matrix of eight interrelated domains and sixty-eight indicators for smart campuses. Through a systematic literature review using the PRISMA protocol, the research identifies the most frequent dimensions in the literature and organizes them into a practical analytical framework, including potential AI applications. The results contribute to the conceptual consolidation of smart campuses and support the development of data-driven strategies for digital transformation in higher education.
