Abstract

The challenge of managing knowledge in the agribusiness environment becomes a strategic factor. The prodution units, though embedded in local production logics, are part of global supply chains, and increasingly need to manage data, information and knowledge to gain competitive advantage. Thus, this article aims to identify the processes and practices of knowledge management of Brazilian poultry production units. This study adopted a quantitative, exploratory and descriptive approach. Data were collected through the application of 240 questionnaires to the managers of the units in the state of Santa Catarina. For data analysis we used descriptive statistics. It can be verified that the knowledge management processes were identified through practices adopted by managers, although they do not have a formal knowledge management program.
