Abstract

Knowledge Management (KM) that considers knowledge as epistemological entity can make use of individual human experiences. Research on Ricoeur’s concept of Narrative Identities suggests for authentic insights that KM needs to be related to personal development and learning processes. Letting people tell stories about their self how and why they act in specific situations not only allows capturing experiential knowledge but also further contextual processing of the created content by means of Rhetorical Structure Theory and a related story ontology. The resulting representation can be used for sharing experiential knowledge with its situational context. This contribution provides the methodological approach and a demonstration case from a field test.
