Abstract

The present study aimed to identify critical factors for the successful internationalization of technology-based companies, currently known as startups. An integrative review was used as a method in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, from the perspective of Critical Success Factors (CSF). Five categories of factors emerged: environmental, business, sectoral, organizational, and managerial. A quantitative predominance of organizational and managerial factors was observed. Contributions include the categorization of CSF and guidance for companies in planning their internationalization process. It is emphasized the need for further research on CSF, including empirical studies, aiming for a better understanding of the decisive elements in the internationalization of technology-based companies.
