Abstract

This article aimed to identify the terms used to define domains applied to smart campuses through metrics provided by the VOSviewer tool. It was found that among the obtained terms, the applied domains were mainly focused on the aspects of smart environments, smart technologies, smart infrastructure, smart applications, smart sustainability, and smart techniques. In this regard, it was observed that the primary tools applied are related to ICTs such as IoT and Big Data; Governance, people, and intelligent education show the highest trends in the Smart Campus context. A temporal evolution in the concept over the last 5 years was noted in the theme, and it is believed that future research will increasingly encompass these addressed domains, particularly for the development and refinement of the concept.
