Abstract

Innovation is the process of creating new ideas, products, services, or processes. This
is one of the main drivers of economic and social development. The Global Innovation Index
(GII) is an annual report that measures the performance of countries in terms of innovation.
The analysis of the content of the GII reports shows that the countries at the top of the GII
ranking are those that invest in R&D, quality education, a favorable business environment, and
an innovation culture. Analysis of the content of the GII reports through the IRAMUTEQ
software showed that the main themes related to innovation are research and development,
Education, Business environment, and innovation culture, suggesting that innovation is a
complex process that requires the participation of a variety of actors, including governments,
businesses, universities, and individuals.
