Abstract

Digital literacy refers to the ability to use digital technologies effectively. This study aimed to analyze how the literature addresses the digital literacy of citizens and healthcare professionals regarding the use of electronic health (eHealth) solutions. This is a systematic literature review that followed the PRISMA protocol. The findings show a growth in the number of publications on digital literacy applied to the health context between 2019 and 2023. This review may be useful for health sector managers and policymakers regarding adopting eHealth systems. This study offers contributions to society and encourages the creation of public policies that invest in the digital literacy and training of healthcare professionals and citizens who use public health services.
