BRANDS OF THE LINK BETWEEN COACHING AND LEADERSHIP: CONTRIBUTIONS TO KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

Abstract

This comprehensive theoretical research paper presents the results of a systematic review of the link between coaching and the leadership process, which compose the studies on knowledge management, acquisition, creation and dissemination through the learning process. The research is qualitative, descriptive and bibliographical in nature, whose objective is to answer the research question: what are the marks that show the links between coaching and the leadership process? Understanding as coaching marks the attitudes and practices guiding and transforming through the relationship of trust in the process of Leadership. This study also identified the leadership concepts presented in the texts analyzed. The systematic review of the bibliography was carried out in the Scielo digital database, with the search words "coaching" and "leader *", texts in English and Portuguese between 2006 and 2016. As a result, it was identified that in most of the articles researched the link is explicit between the two areas, with an emphasis on leadership approaches considered humanist. The link marks found were the relationship of trust and the search for a common goal. It was also observed the marks of a humanized relationship between those involved in the process. Another result was the finding that different areas of study have researched the coaching and leadership themes: sports, nursing, theology, and administration of public and private companies. As next steps, it would be advisable to expand the database for the research carried out.
