Abstract

The Knowledge Observatory can be understood as an instrument to support the planning and management by competencies in networks of individuals, groups and organizations in various fields of knowledge. In this article we try to describe how the Observatory assisted the Network of Expertise and Innovation - REI. The REI seeks to establish instruments and methodology to support the mobilization around water, energy, food and sustainable development, seeking the formation of clusters for the development of technologies, promotion of innovation, capacity-building actions and the attraction of investments for the West of Paraná. These themes were prioritized in actions to mobilize actors and the co-production of knowledge. The REI observatory supports the identification of expertise in C, T & I and the engagement of several actors in actions of co-production of knowledge in the pre-established topics. Through a bibliographical and documentary research, the elements that characterize the knowledge observatory were identified and that were considered in the design and development of the REI observatory. It also describes the main features of the observatory that support the co-production of knowledge and innovation within REI.
