Abstract

Technology parks have established themselves as environments that foster innovation and regional development. New information, trends and technologies are constantly emerging and the ability of technology parks to monitor new trends, learn from experience, and develop new capabilities are important to ensure their evolution and relevance in the marketplace. Starting from the understanding that technological parks are environments capable of absorbing new information, processing it and evolving over time, it is important to understand the mechanisms that are determinant for these evolutions. The objective of this research is to analyze how the dimensions of the absorptive capacity are evidenced in the technology parks, from the processes of environmental scanning. The focus of this research is the technology park as institutions. The companies inside the parks are a considerable larger number, and can be addressed in future researches. The results show a positive influence of the surveyed dimensions on the absorptive capacity of the technology parks.
