Abstract

Innovation strategies in cultural companies in Ecuador are essential for their competitiveness. The study analyzes the innovation activities carried out by cultural SMEs in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador in the typology: product, process, promotion and organization, as well as their effects on companies. A cross-sectional descriptive analysis of 80 cultural companies was used and the results show that there is a predominance of incremental innovations over radical innovations, especially in the commercialization processes of its cultural products. The findings suggest promoting the creation of value and disruptive change processes in the digitization of the Ecuadorian cultural industry.
