Resumo

In this work, a bibliometric research was carried out in order to identify and systematize literature on the approaches and advances related to Absorptive Capacity (ACAP) of innovation directed to new technology-based firms and startups. There are four approaches categorized through the analysis of 103 articles that were selected in the journals Emerald, Science Direct, Ebsco (Academic Search Premier), Web of Science, Scopus and Springerlink journals without temporal delimitation, since the main concern was with the high quality of the corpus of articles selected for analysis. All are, by the Qualis system, stratum A1. The topics most addressed in the literature were directed to the relationship between ACAP and innovation strategies, network of external actors, internal or external factors/resources and antecedents with the potential of ACAP. The study identifies the trend towards empirical research based on quantitative methods with the use of surveys and analysis techniques based on descriptive statistics. Directives and possibilities for research that advance the understanding of the phenomenon and its theoretical-practical applicability are given as contribution to future agendas.
