INFORMATION SCIENCE AND THE RELATIONSHIP WITH ADMINISTRATION SCIENCE IN THE LIGHT OF A POSSIBLE INTERDISCIPLINARITY

Abstract: The objective of this research is to analyze the origins, characteristics and main conceptions that enable the interdisciplinarity between the fields of Information Science and Administration Science. The research has a qualitative approach, which is characterized as a literature review study developed from the systematic search. Strictly speaking, it was possible to identify the common historical origins and theoretical-philosophical conceptions. It is evident that the interdisciplinary nature between the two fields occurs through a process of knowledge exchange and mutual interaction. It is concluded that both fields have clear approaches, with an interdisciplinary relationship based on “information”, however, when it comes to practical application, there is no consensus in the literature that this interdisciplinarity is complete.
