Abstract

The identification of knowledge that determines the ability to anticipate,
adapt and implement responses in the face of unexpected events is critical for promoting resilience. An instrument based on the Critical Decision Method to elicit knowledge that determines operational safety events is described. The instrument brings together a set
of questions that guide the identification of decision-making points, based on situational
awareness, resilience engineering and knowledge. The feasibility analysis of the proposal took place through the prospective analysis of operational safety events in the oil and gas industry, guided by the storytelling technique, in which it was possible to qualify the knowledge that determines the prospected scenarios and identify opportunities to promote learning organization.
