Abstract

Standards, models and practices of the Semantic Web have been used in knowledge organization systems. This fact inspires an ongoing development named Brazilian Knowledge Management Thesaurus as an open knowledge base to be explored. As applied research, the development process is based on the activities: specification, knowledge acquisition, implementation, and verification. In this paper, we aim to discuss the implementation options and main achieved results: the initial set of thesaurus terms, the definition of the thesaurus general categories and the practices for editing the thesaurus with the Simple Knowledge Organization System standard. To the research continuing, we point out the publishing of a stable version of the thesaurus, sharing it with researchers/professionals of the Knowledge Management domain.
