Abstract

Knowledge management has evolved as knowledge has been converted into the main intangible asset of any organization, including habitats of innovation such as technology transfer offices (TTOs). The present work seeks identifying how the organizational knowledge life cycle takes place within a TTO. To this end, qualitative research was conducted, through a case study in a TTO Federal University of the Southern Region of Brazil. Among the main results, a mismatch was identified between the good practices presented in the literature and the way knowledge management is conducted at the TTO. In addition, certain key practices were identified that enable the creation of an organizational knowledge memory, but they were not designed for this purpose.
