Abstract

This article is an integrative review of systems for searching similar patents. With the increasing volume of patent data available, stored in patent offices, it has become essential to develop efficient systems for the identification and verification of patent documents, analyzing their similarities in terms of technology, application, or approach. Different databases were used to retrieve articles relevant to the topic. In this context, this article aims
to examine recent advances in the application of Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Text Mining techniques to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of patent searching. From the results, it is envisioned that this work will serve as a valuable reference for researchers and professionals involved in patent search and analysis

Alexandre Leopoldo Gonçalves possui graduação em Ciência da Computação pela Fundação Universidade Regional de Blumenau (1997), mestrado e doutorado em Engenharia de Produção pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina em 2000 e 2006. Atualmente é Professor Associado lotado no Departamento de Computação/Centro de Ciências, Tecnologias e Saúde/UFSC e Professor Permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia e Gestão do Conhecimento/UFSC. Tem experiência nas áreas de Ciência da Computação e Engenharia do Conhecimento atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Extração e Recuperação de Informação, Descoberta de Conhecimento, Engenharia de Ontologia, Sistemas de Recomendação, Internet das Coisas, Aprendizado de Máquina e Ciência de Dados
