Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the exploratory process of developing the search strategy of an integrative review, observing the recommendations present in guidance and publications on the activity. To do this, we used the Search Triangle model, based on Objectives, Systems, and Heuristics, as the main parts of the search strategy design process. As a result, we tested 11 different strategies, where we found 40 relevant references in 3 distinct searches. Our results reinforce the need for dedication and knowledge acquisition to develop more effective and efficient search strategies, specially through an exploratory process before conducting the review, supported by guides and publications about the process.
