Abstract

Thus, the article aims to investigate the process of product innovation in small agro-industrial
companies in Mozambique. It is a qualitative-exploratory approach, whose method was the
multicase study. As a data collection instrument, a questionnaire was used through Google
Forms and the study of the data was carried out through content analysis. As a result, item
innovation is centered on incubation projects that aim to ensure product competitiveness, interaction between workers through the presentation of new products or new ideas that aim to
improve products launched on the market. Regarding the improvement of the quality of the
fortified white corn flour produced, the challenge of the companies analyzed is centered on
inciting workers to foment new ideas and register products and brands.
