Abstract

This article investigates the impacts of AI in higher education, highlighting personalized teaching, adaptive learning, task automation, tutoring and student support, as well as automated feedback generation. The objective is to explore the interconnections between AI and higher education, provide an overview of the current state of research, and identify gaps and trends. The methodology includes a systematic literature review of 268 studies from the Web of Science, Scielo, and Scopus databases, resulting in 55 analyzed articles. The findings reveal the growing use of AI in education, with emphasis on clusters such as artificial intelligence in education and learning outcomes, detailed in the study. The research results point to the increasing use and impacts of AI in higher education, structured around these clusters.
