Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Knowledge Management (KM) has become a driving force for knowledge creation and economic development. It has rapidly changed the way organizations acquire, process, retrieve, and store information. This paper examines the convergence of AI and KM technologies and highlights the role they play in enhancing KM processes and practices within organizational contexts. Drawing upon peer-reviewed scholarly publications from the period 2015-2025, the thematic literature review results illustrated how AI technologies (e.g. machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, knowledge-based systems, chatbots, etc.) optimized knowledge flows, addressed information overload, fostered innovation, operational efficiency, and productivity.  While most studies have demonstrated that the convergence of AI and KM enable organizations to respond more rapidly to change, challenges persist around managing tacit knowledge, ensuring collaboration between human and machine, and addressing ethical and organizational trust concerns.
