Abstract

The innovation and the entrepreneurship are considered important factors for economic and social development, acting on the society transformation. A good and relevant idea, even if small, can solve a local problem or even be an alternative to undertake with a new purpose. In this context, several individuals and sectors of society are concentrating their efforts on the search of innovating with a social purpose. Thus, the objective of this study is to present the case of the Social Incubator ITCP/FURB, which focuses its efforts on transforming the communities in which it operates through social inclusion, the improvement in quality of life and the knowledge production and socialization. The research is qualitative and exploratory. A bibliographic review was carried out in the Google Scholar database and the capes' journal portal, which returned empirical research that brings the relationship between social innovation, social entrepreneurship and social incubators. The case of ITCP/FURB was the main result, noting that the social incubation facilitates inclusion and collaboration, providing changes in the beneficiary community. The VERBOTECER project demonstrates the strength of social entrepreneurship in joining artisans to form a new business culture. The ENLOUCRESCER project is a sample of social innovation through the reintegration of people with mental disorders into society in a positive and productive way. Finally, it is understood that entrepreneurship and social innovation are in a cyclical movement: the social entrepreneurship drives social innovation and social innovation favors the creation of new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
