Abstract

Safety culture can be designed socially, through the essential components identification, construction and practice. This is a gradual process and requires persistence and involvement of both leadership and workers. First, safety culture needs to be understood through assessment methods. This research aims to describe and discuss a mixed method of safety culture assessment applied to offshore production platforms. It was concluded that the analyzed method obtained concrete data that was aligned with the work reality, once it represents a participative method that promotes discussion spaces with the workers. However, for the implementation of the proposed actions, these should be part of a continuous plan of action on human and organizational factors, and it is needed a greater involvement of the corporate leadership.
