Abstract

An important source of innovation in the modern days are the startups as they employ emerging technologies to invent products and reinvent business models. Startup accelerators offer highperformance support for startups to achieve this purpose. This article aims to contextualize and understand what are startups, accelerators and public policies towards an innovative entrepreneurship in the advancement of innovation in Brazil through the encouragement in acceleration cycles of the "InovAtiva Brazil" Program of the extinct Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC). It is an exploratory objective research, with a qualitative approach, which used bibliographic and documentary research procedures. The results of this article demonstrate a positive impact of the "Inovativa Brazil" Program on the entrepreneurial ecosystem, since accelerated companies have a lower mortality rate, generate jobs and gain access to investment opportunities.
