Abstract

Cultural and technological changes are reoccurring themes in scientific research. Since the industrial revolution, work environments have been constantly changing and today they are built so people can understand that they are collaborating. Through the case study of an innovation environment, it will be investigated the way the connection of an environment focused on technological production with the social issues and urban space guided by history and culture, as it is in the Historic Center of Florianópolis. The Square Lab, the object of observation of this research, is an open coworking place and it is integrated with the community of the center of Santa Catarina. This article will investigate this case focusing on obtaining from it good practices that help in the combination between research and entrepreneurship places and the community they are part of.
