Abstract

In January of 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a new disease’s outbreak and in march of the same year the COVID-19 became a world pandemic. One of the professional occupations that maintained its presencial activities was the police, that even with all those uncertainties and insecurities must persist in their work. The general objetive of this paper was to identify the impact of COVID-19 Pandemic in mental health of the police who attended the Training Course for Sergeants at the Police College of Santa Catarina (FAPON). To answer this matter, we have established specific goals: I. Verify if the received information from the media had an impact in the mental stability of the Police Officers and II. Verify if it had an impact on the emotional-self of the Police Officers. This is an exploratory-descriptive research, whose samples was collected from the Police Officers of the Santa Catarina State who were attending the “Training Course for Sergeants” in the first semester of 2022. We evolved a literature review in the Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo, PubMed and ACM Digital Library research bases to investigate publications adherents to the specific goals, in a way to provide a basis for the study development. Forward, we used a survey application with the academic students as a research tool, evaluating in a qualitative and quantitative way. In this study were assessed the layers of data deluge and its emotional impact in the action on the front lines fight against COVID-19 World Pandemic.
