Abstract

In this paper, prototyping is understood as a knowledge media stimulating communication and interaction with human and technological agents for the production and sharing of information. The objective of understanding the importance of prototyping in design processes, through a literature review, presented an outline of the prototyping perception, its use in design processes, as well as its application possibilities, manual and technological prototypes. Access to technologies and implementation of laboratory spaces for creation, prototyping, the manufacture of accessible and functional artifacts enables experimentation and greater user participation, with models faithful to the project. Prototypes are considered to favor the tangible development of ideas, understanding and feedback from the people involved in the project.
