Abstract

With the exponential increase in crime, budget and personnel limitations, public security institutions need to optimize resources, technologies and information. Police intelligence-led policing has proven to be very efficient in this regard. The objective of this research is to identify the contribution and the relationship between Knowledge Management and intelligence-oriented policing. It was a qualitative, descriptive research, through the “state of the art”. It is concluded that Knowledge Management has always been used in an intuitive way, and can contribute to a new way of working the production cycle in the intelligence-driven policing model, generating excellent "products" for managers of police organizations, and consequently offer a better response to society.
