Abstract

This article presents an innovative approach to the restoration and enhancement of the dissertation and thesis database of the Graduate Program in Knowledge Engineering and Management (PPGEGC) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), using knowledge graphs. The application of standard ontologies, such as FOAF and Dublin Core, together with a custom ontology, ensures efficient organization and retrieval of academic information. The paper discusses the knowledge graph structure, practical implementation challenges, and the expected benefits for academic data management, focusing on interoperability, scalability, and long-term sustainability
