Abstract

Knowledge has become a key factor for organizations to remain competitive in rapidly changing environments. This study aims to evaluate the knowledge management maturity level of a financial institution located in southern Brazil. For this, we used the GC diagnostic method developed by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), which proposes five levels of knowledge management maturity. The results of this study show that the organization studied has level 2, called “initiation”, meaning that the organization recognizes the need to manage knowledge and is starting with actions focused on KM. The results also allowed to identify the strengths and weaknesses, and from the analysis were proposed actions aimed at developing higher levels of knowledge management maturity level in the organization studied.
