Abstract

Governance is associated with formal and informal arranges of how decisions are made in public or private social systems. The complexity and pressure for constant changes in social and organizational environments has led to a growing interest in the concept of adaptive governance. In this article we seek the theoretical basis of adaptive governance and its relationship with resilience and adaptability to change. This research shows that recent works indicate both demand and opportunity to studies that combine adaptive governance and resilience with social capital, network learning and coproduction. This is particularly relevant in the study of coproduction in socioeconomic systems, such as innovation systems, where adaptative governance, resilience and commons can contribute with guidelines and frameworks that contribute to change management and coproduction of heterogeneous players.
