Resumo

The concept of sustainable information, although increasingly present in the context of the 2030 Agenda, remains underexplored in the scientific literature, particularly regarding its contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study aims to identify, characterize, and critically analyze how sustainable information and informational sustainability are addressed in scholarly publications related to the SDGs. A systematic literature review was conducted using Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO databases. The selection process was guided by the PICOC strategy and inclusion/exclusion criteria, supported by a quality assessment checklist. The final corpus consisted of 41 peer-reviewed articles, published between 2017 and 2025, which were enriched with abstracts and keywords from multiple sources. The analysis reveals a growing but fragmented body of research, with a predominance of exploratory studies and limited interdisciplinary integration. Sustainable information practices are primarily associated with educational, technological, and institutional dimensions of sustainability. However, significant gaps persist in conceptual clarity and theoretical development. This review highlights the potential of sustainable information as a catalyst for advancing the SDGs, especially in fostering transparency, civic engagement, and informed decision-making. The findings contribute to the consolidation of informational sustainability as an emerging research field and provide insights for future agendas aligned with the 2030 Agenda.
