EFFECTS OF BURNOUT ON INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL: EXPLORATORY STUDY WITH CONTROLLERS

the aim of this study was to investigate the consequences of burnout syndrome on intellectual capital in the field of controllership, seeking to identify its causes, analyze its physical and mental effects, evaluate the impact on productivity and professional performance, and examine strategies for prevention and intervention, as well as its consequences on job satisfaction and turnover intentions. The research, justified by the importance of the controllership area and the widespread occurrence of burnout, adopted a qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews for data collection. Content analysis was employed to interpret the data, organized with the help of NVivo software. Six professionals from different companies were interviewed. The results highlight the importance of self-care, psychological support, and a healthy and balanced work environment where professionals feel valued and motivated, thus preserving intellectual capital.
