Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the current situation of the innovation processes in the member industries of a Commercial and Industrial Association of the West of Santa Catarina (SC), aiming the promotion of innovation. For that, a field research was conducted with a qualitative approach, using a questionnaire that sought to answer the question of research: what are the processes carried out by the industries for innovation? It had as research universe 25 industries. It was also presented the difficulties encountered in its implementation, the importance of strategic planning for the innovation process and knowledge management as an ally in the technological development of organizations. Factors related to the process are exposed through the theoretical basis and related to the reality of the organizations through the analysis of the data obtained by the research. As a result, 81% of the companies with a very good and good perception of the use of innovation processes were obtained, while 19% still did not develop enough to practice innovation according to the literature.
