Abstract

The article does an investigation in the published works on the theme of innovative university and entrepreneurial university. It is a subject that is deserving significant prominence at the beginning of the 21st century, given the need to continually evaluate the role of universities in contemporary society. This study aims to present a mapping and bibliometric analysis of scientific publications at an international level. To achieve this objective, we used the database that indexes scientific publications, the Web of Science (WoS). The results of the bibliometric analysis show that, in the international context, 346 papers on the topic were located, indexed in 170 journals, which used 13,309 references cited, with 1,117 keywords. The texts were written by 893 authors, linked to 504 institutions from 58 different countries. From the 346 papers, some gaps were identified for future research, to deepen a still-developing theme in this field of study.
