Abstract

Considering the relevance of organizational knowledge and knowledge management (KM) for the survival and competitiveness of organizations in various sectors, this study aims to diagnose the KM maturity in a large retail company in southern Brazil. The research method was based on the application of the tool developed by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) through which interviews (face-to-face) were conducted with directors of the studied company. The results enabled the identification of the company's KM maturity, as well as strengths and weaknesses related to KM. From a qualitative analysis, opportunities for improvement were identified, and it is possible to prepare a preliminary proposal for an action plan.
